August 2019-May 2021

During my time as a graduate student studying Technical Communications at TTU, I am looking forward to expanding the education base that I acquired with my bachelor's degree. Check back as I continue to expand my portfolio.
My Skills
Learned Through Work and School
Skills in Word, PowerPoint, & Excel
Outstanding Quality
I have not only practiced skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel throughout my time in school, I have also worked with each of these programs a great deal during my working experiences as well. As a secretary, I make many Excel charts to organize information for our owners. During my internship time, I made many PowerPoint presentations to present the project information we completed. Finally, throughout school, Word was a constant source that I used. I feel confident in my abilities with all three.
Skills in Editing
Fiction Editor, Harbinger Journal, TTU
During my year as a Fiction editor for the Harbinger Journal, I worked with over 20 authors, selecting seven final pieces to help edit and publish. The experience was a great opportunity to work with authors and also get a glimpse into what the publishing experience was like. I was able to polish my communication and collaboration skills by working with other editors and corresponding with authors, and I was able to practice the real-world skills I will be using in my future as a Fiction editor.
Skills in Management
Manager at Caprock Cafe
I have worked at a local restaurant, Caprock Cafe, as a bartender for 5 years. For 3 of those years, I have acted as the bar manager as well. As a manger, I am continuing to improve upon my skills in communication, organization, and leadership. I make the schedules for bartenders, organize meetings, and settle grievances between employees. I believe that all of these skills will help me to excel in any job during my future.
Skills in Detail-Orientation and Time Management
Outstanding Quality
Juggling 2 or 3 jobs a semester while maintaining a 4.0 in my major at Texas Tech University has given me great practice in time management. I have become very skilled in meeting deadlines for both school and work, while also constantly provided quality deliverables. I have become very detail-oriented by practicing editing skills, inputting information for companies, and creating work that has to be considered very high quality.
